Arriflex 2-A / 2-B / 2-C / 3-C M.O.S.... cameras

         Arri 2-A description

Basic 35mm camera with mirror shutter reflex finder, interchangeable ground glasses. Constant, variable, crystal & high speed motors available. Magazines are belt driven...forward only. View finding system is the earliest model... not as bright as the 2-B or 2-C. Turret has no "B" mount...all Arri standard

This is the world's first spinning mirror camera. It was introduced at the Leipzig Trade Fair in 1937. The camera was updated by the 35/2 in 1946 and the 2A in 1953. Improvements and modifications continued, a variable shutter being added to the 2B in 1960 and finally the last and most popular of the range, the 2C, introduced in 1964.

         Arriflex 2-C description

Basic 35mm camera with mirror shutter reflex finder and interchangeable ground glasses. Constant, variable, crystal & high speed motors available. The movement is a single claw activated by a cardioiod cam. Magazines are typically gear driven for forward and reverse movement. The view finding system is brighter than the 2-A. Factory stock turret typically has a "B" mount in stainless for the zoom lens and two Arri standard mounts. Some 2-C cameras are converted to PL or BNCR "hard" fronts (pictured). The hard front eliminates the possibility of flange focal distance movement.

Arriflex 35-2CV/B: Variable shutter that can be adjusted from completely open 165° to closed 0°

Arriflex 35-2CGS/B: All of the features of the 2-C/B plus a factory installed electric clap stick system and combination tachometer / generator.

Arriflex 35-2CHS/B: Specially balanced movement for filming rates up to 80 f.p.s.... This camera utilizes a high speed film gate, 80 f.p.s... tachometer and special 32 volt DC motor and rheostat speed control.

Arriflex 35-2CT/B: Two perforation pull down. Special gate and ground glass for filming in Techniscope.
